Digital Imaging

Our office carefully chooses when and which radiographs are taken. There are many guidelines that we follow. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.

Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. Kenwood Endodontics utilizes Digital Imaging Technologies within the office. With digital imaging, exposure time is about 90 percent less when compared to traditional radiographs. Digital imaging can also help us retrieve valuable diagnostic information.

Digital imaging allows us to store patient images, and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to specialists or insurance companies.

Zeiss Operating Microscopes

We utilize special operating microscopes. Magnification and LED illumination are helpful in aiding the doctor to see tiny details inside your tooth. We also utilize advanced rotary instrumentation to clean and shape your canals, resulting in less post treatment discomfort.

JMorita Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)

Rather than relying on a 2D image to represent a 3D object, a CBCT accurately displays complex dental anatomy such as periapical lesions, calcified canals, and additional hidden canals. It also shows surrounding structures without the limitations of a flat 2D image.

CBCT imaging offers many advantages in endodontics. The images are acquired as high resolution 3D volumetric data, so endodontists can interact with the software to ensure superior visualization of the relationships between teeth and their surroundings. This makes it an ideal adjunctive tool in endodontic diagnosis, treatment planning and guidance, as well as evaluating teeth post treatment. This technology may also decrease the need for multiple treatment visits and aids in our commitment to provide innovative, high-quality, patient care.
